Today has been overwhelming to say the least. Work has thrown some new twists and turns my way, and I'm doing my best to navigate. My fitness has been ignored for so long that I'm afraid I won't make it through a 1 mile run. At home we've just started our pups on a rigorous training routine with an end goal of making the one year more independent. And to top it off my mind only wants to focus on two weddings that are happening in December. Why wouldn't I want to muse about the happiest day in my two favorite people's lives?
My coping strategy for the deluge of every day life, is to take a break. Breaks can be anything from a quick walk to get a coffee or throwing on my headphones and blasting a couple of my favorite songs. The coffee-run served only as a minor distraction, so now my method of choice is blogging. I find that once the words are on the screen I accept the fact that it's OK to be overwhelmed, and I know it'll all work out. See, I feel better already.
Now back to work before the emails pile up!

The work-life balance certainly is a challenge. Today, I found myself at a week-end community picnic trying to encourage the involvement in regional land use planning. But, how does one's booth compete against an adjacent booth filled with puppies? A basket of puppies I tell you! Normally, a plate of chocolate chip cookies work but the one-up-manship of puppies. I almost took one home. You'll get back to the workout schedule -- unless, there are puppies to distract you!
Not going to lie, I would hang out with the puppies too ;) My next post will be about my 1 year old pup-dog oddly enough.
